The City Council, Cathedral City Public Arts Commission, and the Cathedral City Fire Department invite you to the unveiling of a new 9/11 art memorial in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack upon our nation. The unveiling will take place at the new Cathedral City Fire Station 411, 68950 Buddy Rogers Avenue, South Main Entrance, in Downtown Cathedral City on Saturday, September 11, 2021, starting at 8:15 am and concluding with a Moment of Silence at 8:46 am in recognition of the time when the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City.
The art memorial was designed by Cathedral City Fire Captain Corey Goddard and fabricated by a local businessman Jason Carlin. The memorial pays respect to those who lost their lives at the Twin Towers in New York City including hundreds of first responders. A 9/11 Memorial Plaque will also be unveiled that honors all who died and the thousands of injured survivors at the World Trade Center complex, at the Pentagon, and on United Flight 93 that crashed in rural Pennsylvania.
